Dr Janelle Ward is the Biodiversity Team Leader at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, coordinating species translocations, active species management, monitoring and research. She is also one of the Karioi Project's awesome volunteers!
A Wildlife Veterinarian, Janelle’s main interests are species translocations, wild bird rehabilitation, avian medicine, wildlife health, and species conservation. She has worked closely with kākāpo, kiwi, takahe, kaka, tuatara, bats and many other New Zealand native species. Janelle will lead a discussion on the reintroduction of species via translocation, with examples from recent reintroductions at Maungatautari.
