Woohoo! It's National Conservation Week | Te Wiki Tiaki Ao Tūroa.

We're taking the time to celebrate our team, volunteers and the wild and wonderful native species that we strive to protect.

Caring for taiao is what we love to do, and we couldn't do it without our incredible volunteers. This week we all got muddy out in the bush laying down bait, something we do regularly to keep predator populations down (alongside running extensive traplines). Fueled by some delicious kai and spurred on by team spirit, we covered over 300 hectares. Thank you to all our volunteers who make this work possible.

Meanwhile, down at Manu Bay, our education team took young people from Raglan Area School out in the field to hunt for Ōi burrows and learn how to trap predators (they got very muddy too!!). A surprise highlight for the tamariki was spotting a NZ fur seal (oioi) who had cruised in off the coast for a sunbathe.
