All about the ōi and its habitat
Whāingaroa has managed to revive an ōi / grey-faced petrel colony and in this workshop, we learn all about the wonderful ōi! We start with the species’ importance to local Māor and to biodiversity in general, and how they connect us to the rest of the world. We’ll look at the ōi’s place in the food chain. We’ll also explore the relationship between their presence and that of mustelids and other predators, and why that is important.
