Native tree identification

This is an introduction to native trees and their various adaptations. We head outdoors to get hands-on experience in identifying some native species. We’ll also be looking at indigenous knowledge and traditional uses for various native trees and plants. We’ll address the threats that trees face and actions that can be taken to help.

  • Connect with and learn about widespread New Zealand native trees

  • Identify key local native trees

  • Begin to understand how native plants and trees are part of a wider ecosystem

Delivery: As a half-day workshop or part of a longer whole/multi-day programme

Location: Delivery of this programme can take place in any natural setting
